Brief History: Hector Sanchez’s entire life could be described as a baptism of fire.  His parents were notorious drug traffickers and were always hunted by the Espanolan police.  If his life wasn’t in danger from a vicious gun battle, it would be during a drug deal gone wrong.  While his parents were good, they weren’t good enough to evade the police forever.  They were killed in an ensuing firefight, but Hector and his younger brother Paris managed to elude the authorities.  With the Espanolan police not knowing about their target’s offspring, they were none the wiser as Hector and Paris began anew on their own.

Hector met somebody in his new life.  A girl named Juanita, a heroin addict that used to be supplied by Hector’s parents.  Now that Hector was in control of her cravings, the two of them grew closer and closer.  Their twisted relationship escalated so high that they were making love nightly and dreaming of getting married.  But fate had a different future in store for the lovers, for Juanita eventually overdosed on her love’s product, something that still mars Hector’s every waking moment.

Hector knew nothing beyond what his parent taught him about the drug trade.  So that’s what he did to survive.  He gradually became the major supplier of drugs to Espanola and even more notorious that his parents were.  Known for his ferocity in fights, Hector became universally feared among all who had dealings with him.  That ferocity was due, in part, to his own drug habit he picked up after first entering the trade.  Be it heroin, cocaine or marijuana, Hector did and loved it all.  He felt it lent him strength, and would often shoot up just before a deal in case things got out of hand.  But in reality, it drove him mad and it was his psychosis that drove him to such murderous fervors in battle.  His madness eventually alienated his brother, who tried to help him out his habit and keep him level headed during deals.  But when he realized that Hector was beyond salvation, Paris decided it was time to move on… after one last deal.

This deal would secure Hector as the principal trafficker and distributor in Espanola.  And everything went flawlessly, until those they were dealing with double crossed them and ambushed the pair.  Hector’s psychosis saved his own skin, but when the dust settled, Paris was nowhere to be found.  Believing him dead, Hector didn’t know what to do with his life now.  He knew he wasn’t safe in Espanola, and without his brother’s aid, he couldn’t remain the major trafficker he was.  So he decided to flee across the great sea and begin all over again in Thalland.

But as fate would have it, on his way to the airport, he passed by an antique store.  He took one quick look in the window and noticed a gem-encrusted chalice glimmering in the moonlight.  Something struck him about the object.  He smashed the window in with a pipe, reached in the window, snatched the goblet and carried on his way.  He bribed his way past security at the airport and he was shortly in the sprawling metropolis of Thalland City.  He had to start at the bottom of the barrel again and work his way up.  After a few weeks of desolate business, he was discovered by Kumiko Nishigawa, who saw a potential in him and the strange goblet he carried with him.  Desperate for a chance, he took her offer and became the first of Jared Orkney’s prized assassins.  He eventually learned the secrets of his treasure and practiced with the cup fervently, uncovering many abilities he now possessed.

And he wasn’t alone with his abilities.  Another, a woman named Faya, possessed an artifact of such power.  She was said she followed her chakram from Pakovia to Thalland City and although it struck Hector as bizarre, he knew it was inevitable that the artifacts would be drawn to each other.  He was the Ace of Cups and she was the Ace of Pentagrams.  It was only natural in his mind that they start a relationship.  However, it was a rather hollow excuse for a relationship: all lust and no love.  Until he met Tiger.

Hector isn’t sure why he fights for Jared.  He isn’t sure what his place is.  He just knows that he wants his redemption and to pick up the pieces of his shattered life.

And his redemption may just be waiting for him….
