Brief History:
Born simply Jared, Jared Orkney knew little about his mother. He knows that he was born from her rape and that her name was Katherine Cavanaugh, but that is all he knows. When he was born, his father stole him from her and promptly had her executed. His father saw a worthy successor in Jared and bred him to follow in the footsteps of evil. However, when Jared was merely a few months old, Azmodan was slain by a group that swore to rid Ruferus of the demonic element. He saw with his own two eyes, someone, who he would eventually learn was Sabine Blasendorf, gun his father down. Being a baby at the time, Jared didn’t have a clue what happened, but that memory would surface later on in his life.

Jared was found and placed in an adoption agency set up to find homes for orphans of the demon war. For most of his childhood, he would go from foster home to foster home, as his demon blood caused some very violent and angry behavior in him. He was rude and he would destroy furniture and torture any pets in the house. If this kind of behavior didn’t cause them to return him to the adoption agency, it would be his peculiar appearance, as he grew horns just above his eyes, which were oddly coloured gray. This kind of passing around went on for ten years, until he couldn’t take it anymore. He stole away from his last foster parents and left them a parting gift, the decapitated body of their only child. This was his first murder, which actually satiated his rage temporarily, but after a few hours, he felt saddened by what he had done.

Jared would live in a delapidated church at the edge of town. He would steal food and goods from the city and bring them back to his home. If he were desperate enough, he would lead a hapless person into an alleyway and murder them for their money, as well as to satisfy his bloodlust.

However, after his bloodlust was satisfied, his humanity would torture him. If he were born full demon, he would not have such remorseful thoughts, but being only a half-demon, he would retain a small bit of human emotions and feelings. But these feelings would yield to his powerful demon blood, and his bloodlust frequently took hold of his mind. He knew that he would not survive if he allowed this kind of emotional turmoil within him to continue. His choice was to desensitize himself to the killing and dull his human emotions. It was not long before all the remorse he had inside him buried itself and he became an unrepentant killer.

When he wasn’t killing people or stealing stuff, Jared would read quite a bit. It was during his reading, that he took the last name of Orkney for himself. He read a book about the demon war, which would unlock many memories for Jared. He read about Azmodan, and upon seeing his picture, the memory of his death flooded into Jared’s consciousness. He remembered his true nature and realized what he had to do: destroy those who killed his father and finish what he had started. After some investigation, he discovered who it was that killed his father all those years ago.

With his goal in mind, Jared trained hard. He stole a greatsword and trained himself to use it. After many years, he was able to wield the massive blade with ease. He had also learned to tame his bloodlust as well, being able to activate it when he so desired its ruthlessness.

Along the way, he would come across some allies. He found a man named Ralf Bethlehem committing a murder just in the alleyway beside his home. At first, Jared saw potential in the twisted man, and believed him to be an ally to his cause. While Ralf vowed to help him, over time Jared learned about Ralf’s background and decided to distance himself from who he saw to be a depraved lunatic beneath even himself. He now looks upon Ralf with disdain, even loathing.

Another half-demon like him, named Kumiko Nishigawa, tracked him down. Kumiko too, was present during the slaying of Azmodan, and wishes to avenge her mother, who was a succubus under Azmodan’s command. Seeing Jared as Azmodan’s successor, Kumiko too pledged her allegiance to Jared. As the two shared their experiences, they felt a definite sexual attraction to each other. They have expressed this attraction physically on many occasions. Jared considers Kumiko his only true friend.

Upon learning that his father’s killer, Sabine, has returned to Ruferus with a god named Bors, Jared has put his plan into action. While many of his plans have yet to be revealed, he has summoned his father’s demon army to the best of his abilities, being only a half-demon and uses them as sleeper agents; they masquerade as Furs and draw them into their army using coercion, bribery or threats. This is different from the first demon war, which involved the all-out onslaught of the entire planet.

But those who killed his father once again oppose Jared, and his enemies have become much more skilled over the quarter century between the demon wars. In addition, he has a powerful nemesis in the form of the extraplanar deity Bors. He knows that he must be cautious if he is to win this new war. But Jared is a cunning man and knows his own limits and weaknesses, and feels that given time, he will be triumphant…
